Roll up, roll up, welcome to the circus. We’re the circus with a purpose and the purpose is fun! Our aim is to bring all the excitement of the circus to every family and to all children, whatever their ability or situation.
- Circus Starr was founded in 1987 as a benefit circus by the Gandey circus family raising money for good causes and, since that time, we’ve provided thousands of free seats (worth around £1.3 million every year), to disadvantaged, disabled and vulnerable children, their families and community groups – to those that we know will benefit from some pure and simple fun and excitement.
- A not-for-profit social enterprise, becoming a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2010, Circus Star boasts world-class professional artists from around the globe and three times every year we tour the UK bringing magical, breath-taking and shout-out-and-dance-in-your seat excitement to 75 venues.
- Circus Starr is about making memories and we run our Donated Ticket Programme so that those who usually find family trips out difficult for whatever reason, can experience the circus and remember their visit for years to come. Through the programme, local businesses buy and donate tickets to disadvantaged children and their families in the area: individual families, children’s hospices and hospitals, young carers, foster families, SEN schools, women’s refuges and other charities.
- For local businesses it’s a chance to give something back to their communities and to help support us in our mission to bring our inclusive circus to town. At Circus Starr we adhere to best practice, we’re transparent and accountable with regards all fundraising activity, allowing businesses to give with confidence – see our T&Cs and Privacy Policy for further details.
