We bring the magic of the circus to those children and their families that would ordinarily find it difficult to access.

We understand the barriers that may restrict choices for our audiences. Barriers may be:

  • Physical
  • mental
  • financial

and barriers may be caused by the attitudes and prejudices of others. Circus Starr removes the barriers so that every child is included. Inclusiveness is at the heart of everything we do and we’re proud to give our audiences an opportunity to experience the thrill of the circus – to relax, to enjoy themselves and to laugh, sing, dance and shout; all within a safe, accessible environment. Our aim is to reach every child, at every show.

Since we were established in 1987 we have given over 1 million disabled and disadvantaged children this opportunity. We know our circus experience holds many benefits and can even been life-changing for some. Parents and carers of the children at our shows frequently report that it:

  • Reduces isolation, fear and anxiety
  • Restores hope
  • Strengthens family bonds
  • Increases confidence and self-esteem
  • Sparks creativity and sociability
  • Creates a feeling of inclusion
