For the past four years we have made magical memories with Maddison and her family.

She was diagnosed with a life threatening condition, SMARD 1, when she was nine months old.

It means that she is a full time wheelchair user and is dependent on a ventilator, but that doesn’t stop her from been an outgoing girl that loves to act, sing and dance!

Her Mum Lidia told us how it can sometimes be difficult to find places that can accommodate her daughter’s needs.

"An image or a Mum, son and daughter at the circus. The young girl is sat in a wheelchair."“Maddie loves to do lots of different things it’s sometimes hard to find fully inclusive activities where she feels involved and can access safely. That’s why we love to come to Circus Starr, we feel so confident taking Maddie along knowing she’s going to feel 100% welcome, included and happy.”

Like many parents of children with high medical need, Lidia is Maddie’s full time carer meaning family outing are often too expensive.

“To be able to go to Circus Starr as a family for free is amazing and we’re truly grateful for the memories it allows us to make.”

You can watch Maddie’s experience of our 2018 and 2019 shows by clicking on the year, and you can find out what else she has been up to visiting her Youtube channel .

We look forward to seeing Maddie’s 2020 video when we return to Nottingham.
