This Autumn has seen us make our show more accessible for visually impaired children.

At Circus Starr our mission is to transform, enrich and inspire the lives of those who need it most through the magical art of circus performance.

We know that despite our show been visually stunning some of our audience members can benefit from extra support, so we hold touch tours.

This project gives families the chance to enter our circus ring and meet our performers. Here they can feel their props and try their tricks, giving them a better understanding of what will happen when the performance actually takes place.

We held the tours prior to our performances in Hull, Liverpool, Milton Keynes and Luton and they were a wonderful success!

We children attending with their families, careers and as part of school groups.

Lilly came along to our touch tour with her Mum, Tracey, and her twin sisters. She is visually impaired and has having learning difficulties, epilepsy and autism.

Tracey told us about the impact the project had on Lilly.

“The touch tour was an amazing experience for her to see everyone close, touch things and speak on the speaker which she loved. It made such a difference as she understood more about the show with meeting everyone first.”

We love helping children like Lilly have the best experience possible at our shows.

As we have now finished all of our touch tours in our Autumn tour we look forward to holding more when our Big Top tour return in the Spring.

If you would be interested in a touch tour been held in your area please email sarah@circus-starr.org.uk .
