Attending Circus Starr has had a profound impact on Freya, bringing a burst of creativity and joy after visiting with her mum and dad…
Inspired by our Starr Squad, she now loves to transform the living room into her own stage, showcasing her fantastic freestyles and creating her own unique dance routines.
“The Circus Starr song is often on repeat at home. Freya loves to perform to this song, using her microphone and silk ribbon. She has remembered all the three BSL signs to go along with the ‘Shout Circus Starr’ finale song too!”
Freya’s creativity doesn’t stop there— She entered our drawing competition, capturing the essence of her favourite characters, Blossom and Ring Mistress Mariska (Spring Tour 2025), expressing her admiration with the words, “Mariska and Blossom are pretty!”
For Freya’s mum and dad, finding activities that accommodate Freya’s additional needs can be a challenge. Her parents explained…
“Although she has improved a lot, she is hypersensitive to sounds and textures. Freya becomes overwhelmed sometimes if an environment is too busy and loud. We have to carefully select quieter times and days, if we are going to a popular place, such as an attraction or just going into town.”
However, the performance provided Freya the environment to make noise and move freely, allowing her to embrace her authentic self and connect with other children facing similar challenges.
The magic of the show truly captivated Freya, especially as she had a perfect view of her favourite “PINK!” Starr Squad member, Blossom – After the show, Freya eagerly wanted some pictures of her favourite acts! Since then, Sian has told us
“Freya loves to carry these around attached to her pram. She often shows people when we are out too telling EVERYBODY their names and where they are from!”
Sian often shares delightful videos and photos of Freya with us, showcasing her incredible dance moves, cool circus skills
and the sheer joy she has experienced since attending the show.
“Freya talks about Circus Starr a lot at home. Our wrapping paper has been adapted with hair bobbles so that she can practice foot juggling, so she can be just like Mariska!”
Freya’s experience with Circus Starr has not only sparked her creativity but has also provided her a safe and joyful space to express herself freely. The inclusive atmosphere of the show caters to her needs, allowing children like Freya to fully immerse
themselves in the joy of the performance without feeling overwhelmed.
As she joyfully carries her cherished memories of the performance with her, it is clear that Circus Starr has left a lasting impact on Freya!
Who knows? Perhaps one day, Freya will join the circus herself!
